This corner is fairly useless in my house and it soon became a dumping ground for all my husband's stuff from his pockets when he got home from work. I didn't want to take away his "spot", but I am a bit of an OCD personality type and it needed something to look a little more organized. I am so glad I got this little bowl! My husband's wallet, pocket knife, and keys all fit without an issue and it makes it look more eye pleasing than just a pile of "stuff" haphazardly thrown on the counter (side note: the pool ball is a vintage pool ball from the bar his grandpa used to own from the late 1960's to mid 80's.).
Another option, throw some little dainty flowers in the bowl or some greenery. I used one of the little greenery bunches I picked up from Hobby Lobby I had "around" (I may have a floral addiction like Jenny) and put it on the mantel under the tv. I don't have a huge space here, but it fits just right. Simple, yet does the job of adding some wood tones and some texture to my space.
You can find this Petite Wood Bowl on the Fleursdelavie website.

]]>Welcome to my New Year Home Tour part 2! I am looking at ways to refreshen your space. Today, I am looking at a couple bigger items to add to your space.
FURNITURE - Furniture is a pretty big deal and may take some time to decide on what you want for your space. Since furniture is something that you can not change/replace easily and can go out of style quickly, go neutral. Neutral does NOT have to be boring. Neutral does NOT mean not having a pattern. Neutral does NOT mean being safe. It means finding something that will always go with your decor AND also your style. I absolutely LOVE this love seat. I love it so much after seeing it in my shop, that I ordered one for my own home! It is just beautiful. It is not boring with it's tufted back and it has a lovely, yet simple pattern. It is a neutral color and goes so well with any decor I put in here. Isn't my little Pica a cute model?
LIGHTING - Lighting is such a personal choice and when you find what you like, you just know. My decor seems to lean a little more towards French Country Farmhouse, if there is such a thing. I feel this light captures that style perfectly. Lighting is not as easy to change as curtains or pillows, but a bit more budget friendly. Like furniture, take your time when selecting your lighting. Make sure you love it since generally, you will live with it for a few years before changing it again. Again, something simple will go a long way if ever or whenever you change your decor.
Furniture and Lighting may be a little bit more of a permanent choice than pillows or table decor, but don't let that intimidate you. Go with your gut and while some things may be beautiful, weigh the option of if it will go out of style before you will get around to changing it again.

]]>I was born in 1981 on a cold...just kidding. I won't take you back that far. Growing up, my mom was very talented with flowers and decorating and even opened her own business in 1994 in Edwardsburg, a little town by where we lived and I went to school. I would help her at her floral shop after school and on the weekends, which is where I learned to make wreaths and developed my love for florals and decor. Fast forward a few years, I graduated in 2000 from Edwardsburg and married my high school sweetheart in 2002 and our son Jackson was born in 2005.
I started making wreaths here and there from my home in Osceola, IN just for myself, a friend and an occasional craft show in 2005. My husband accepted a job in North Carolina in 2009, so we picked up and moved halfway across the country with a toddler to a place where we knew no one. I started making wreaths as something to do with my time and with encouragement from my husband and some friends, I started selling my wreaths on Etsy in 2010. I had no idea if anyone would like them or if I would even sell any. I was shocked when my business exploded. I found myself doing what I loved as a full time job from home. I would make designs up and they would sell out. Then I had people who wanted to customize their wreaths and I started adding some of those into what I offered. Then in 2015, my husband again took a transfer, this time to Oregon, all the way across the country, literally! We lived apart for most of that year, while he secured a place to live and I packed up our house back in North Carolina. It was a rough year juggling moving and my online Etsy business.
During the first couple years in Oregon, my passion for wreath making and home decor grew. In 2018 I opened our first brick and mortar store. Our following grew and we met so many wonderful people. It was great to be a part of the community and connect with people aside from those who I would occasionally email with online. We added wreath making classes, Instagram tutorials and grew both my wreath making and home decor business in store and online. We even added subscription boxes that customers can sign up to get a box delivered to their door at a discounted price!
Then 2020 happened. It hit us all. We moved to our current location during the pandemic and decided to switch from a regular hour business open five days a week to a once a month market open just one weekend a month. This gives me time to restock for the next holiday or season without being stressed out about making sure the store is set up and only having a day or two to reset.
Which brings me to now. Before our move, I felt myself missing what I started out doing - making wreaths. I have been making them since we opened a store front, but I wasn't devoting time to making wreaths like I used to do and I miss that. I did it when I could or when an order came in and it was really getting to me that I had pulled away from wreaths. So over the holidays and after some soul searching and lots of thoughts on how I wanted my business to look, I have decided I am going back to my roots. I am going to shift my focus to making wreaths the focal point of my business. Don't worry, the home decor is still going to be here and I want to do more with showing you how to decorate your home with my wreaths and the home decor I sell in the shop. So look for those posts to come here on the blog. Every week we will showcase a wreath for an upcoming holiday, or a fun 'how to decorate' post or spotlight an item from our shop with a product review from a guest blogger here and there.
We also have some exciting news coming soon about updated shopping days. Stay tuned for more on that later!

So...last year was, well, interesting for everyone. I am so excited for a new year, new goals and new decor! So, I want to know!
Do you have New Year's resolutions that include new decor or organizing your home?
How do you decorate after Christmas?
Who is looking for a fresh new start and over their old decor?
Who just needs to refresh with some pieces?
I can tell you, after the Christmas season, I am just so worn out, but then I get this NEED to redo and reorganize my house. From reorganizing all the rooms and closets to refreshing some of my decor, with new pieces and reusing some well loved pieces, I think we all are looking for a refresh and to clear out the clutter this time of year. Today I am going to talk about how rugs, flowers, candles, pillows and curtains can all add different elements to your New Year's decor.
ADD A RUG! One of the easiest, least expensive things to change when you are decorating is your front door rug. Usually you can do this for under $40 easy! I had this cute grey buffalo check rug already. By adding this beautiful Chindi rug under the buffalo check one, I have added extra space as you enter my front door, but also added some depth and texture to my entryway. The rug was $39.99, but you know Hobby Lobby, you hardly ever pay full price for anything. I got this for 1/2 off so I only paid $20! They still have the rug and you can find it here!
FLOWERS AND CANDLES! I know, I know. Here I am, the wreath and flower lady, recommending flowers. But I promise you, it can cheer up and refresh a room with minimal effort. Start with a vase. I don't have this specific one in stock any more, but I have one similar in the shop here that would be beautiful for any decor. Then pick some floral stems and some green filler. White florals are of course beautiful and simple. I like to mix 3-4 different kinds of floral stems and greenery in my vases. A great tip: I have taken my vase with me into my shop before and made the arrangement right there. If you forget your vase, find something in the shop that is similar. Then you know how many floral stems you need and eliminate extra trips. Candles are another great way to add to your space and the smell can lift your spirits. This Milkhouse Candle Company Citrus Balsam candle is perfect for this time of year. It is a little bit of Christmas left over with an uplifting citrus scent. Check out the Milkhouse Candle Company candles I carry in my online shop. The Aggie's Soy candles are amazing as well! Both companies have some wonderful scents that will please anyone. They also make great gifts!
PILLOWS AND CURTAINS OH MY! I may have a pillow and curtain obsession. Ok, I do!! I really do. You can make a room with curtains. I love florals (I know right?!?!), so when I saw these curtains at Pottery Barn, I had to have them! Aren't they just gorgeous!! They showcase my love for florals and add a pop of color to my other neutral colored decor. TIP: hang your rod near the ceiling instead of just above the window like we have all been advised for years. Buy longer curtains and your windows will look larger and thus, your room will look larger. Next, pillows. Oh, how I love pillows (check these out that I carry in my online shop). Pillows add depth and texture to your room and are easy enough to change out with the seasons if you choose.
Check back next week for more exciting ways to update your decor!

I was so honored to be asked to participate in the 31st annual "Holiday and Home Tour", put on by the Soroptimist of McMinnville. This is an organization or club that supports women and girls in troubled times and offers scholarships to help them get back on their feet. Soroptimist stands for "The best for women". I love that and thought what a great organization and YES I would love to participate.
This year 5 homes were on the tour. We were house #1. I believe we had over 125 people come through our home! WOW! I was lucky enough to see a few people I knew. We didn't stay the whole time at our house since we needed to take our dogs out. But, what a fun experience and an excuse to get my house all prettied up!!
Each room was decorated as I would decorate for the Holidays. Cozy, warm, and some pops of colors. I even had a Disney themed room to accommodate the gorgeous stone wall in our formal living room. Reminds me of Sleeping Beauty's Castle. I was so excited I got to FINALLY use that as my excuse to decorate with some Disney.
The kitchen and family room was more of a traditional Christmas with stockings, red and white and lots of fun details of pillows, blankets and table decor.
Thank you to all that attended and thank you to all the women who put this amazing event together. You are awesome ladies and I was so happy to have gotten to participate. Your faith in me and friendship mean so much!!
XOXO,
Jenny
]]>About 30 women of local businesses came out and made succulent pumpkin arrangements for fall! We hosted this here at our shop in McMinnville and people loved it! Everyone made an adorable pumpkin or arrangement and they all looked so pretty! I loved seeing all the ladies getting creative and enjoying each others company.
This is my first brick n mortar shop and I have to say... I am thrilled, excited and humbled of how this community supports each other. I started this business not knowing what it all entailed but, I am finding more friendships, loyal customers and some of best friends I could ever have doing this. I am so glad I got out of my comfort zone and decided to put myself out there front and center.
I wanted to personally send special thanks to Holly and Rhonda and all the chamber members who put this event together. You guys are wonderful and we appreciate all your hard work! Until next time.. much love!

The shop is decorated all up for Christmas and is looking so pretty! We have about six trees fully decorated with beautiful ornaments and some handmade ones as well. Each tree has a theme and flows well with each room. New decor is still arriving, so there will be something new all the way up until Christmas. :)
Thank you all again and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Best wishes,

]]>We just finished our first DIY succulent workshop today! What a fun way to start fall. Everyone made an adorable and unique arrangement they can use for many seasons to come. Each one was different and so darn cute! The color combinations of oranges and reds with pops of purple and white and accents of ribbon really made the arrangements look so beautiful and realistic. Everyone had a great time!
I really enjoy meeting new people and watching them create something special. Today was a perfect day to do just that. The ladies enjoyed some time with their friends and family and ended up taking home a couple gorgeous arrangements each to enjoy.
We hope to keep offering these classes through the year. Keep checking back to see what is happening next!
Blessings,

]]>I started my Etsy business back in 2010, with no money and an idea of what I hoped to do. We love to go places and travel and all I really wanted was a trip to the happiest place on earth. My hubby said you want to go, figure out a way to pay. 🤷♀️ So I thought hmm.. let me give my Etsy shop another try.
I have always had a knack for designing florals a talent my mom taught me as a young girl. So I got back to making wreaths (2014) and trying to figure out a way to make it lucrative. It didn’t happen right away. Took me months(years if I’m being honest) to really figure it all out.
By March 2015, I started seeing sales come in. By fall I was selling like crazy! Long story short I was determined to get my trip and boy did I. ❤️ Before I knew what hit me we were able to buy a house in Oregon with my income, travel and last year I started my first retail store! Things I never imagined.
So I guess what I am saying is if you have dreams to start a business or take that vacation or even buy a home 🏠 nothing is impossible.
]]>Being a business owner is a dream come true... somedays! They do tell you the first few years are the hardest which I am finding is true. I have been selling online for years and this is by the far the hardest of the two. Driving traffic to your new place, advertising, marketing and crossing your fingers people will show up.
I am still learning how to grow my business and so thankful for all the amazing support. I could not do this without my husband who pushes me everyday. He gives me the courage and strength I need to keep pushing through. I am also thankful for my friend Katelyn. Without her help I would be completely lost! Ha!
My goal is for our little shop to be a destination stop, not just a drive by. I want people to know we are here for the long haul. So, make sure when you are in McMinnville OR to come and see us! You won't be disappointed!
Thank you to all that support my small business and hope to see you all again soon!!

]]>Happy Spring Everyone!
Today was another day of working at the shop making lots of beautiful wreaths. I am so blessed to have a job that I get to share my talent and make money doing what I love. I also love when I get custom requests to make new products that I have never made before.
A few weeks ago I took an order for a custom "Peacock" themed wreath. At first, I was a little hesitant since I don't do wreaths like this often. I took the order proudly and said I would love to create a custom look for her. I also love when I don't rely on pictures or really go into Pinterest to find ideas. I just wing it and see what I can come up with. That is just what I did.
My customer received her wreath today and she was OVER the moon. She loved it so much she took the time to leave me probably the best review I have had in a long time. She made my day and even made me realize how much I do love my job. It took me a long time to find my calling in life and today was proof that I am where God wants me to be. I am grateful.
Blessings,
Jenny

We just finished up our first spring wreath making event this last Saturday! We made a beautiful spring wreath and added ribbons and wooden monograms to each one.

Hello friends!
We just finished up our first spring wreath making event this last Saturday! We made a beautiful spring wreath and added ribbons and wooden monograms to each one. They all turned out beautiful and each one was unique. We had a nice group of ladies that made this so much fun!
I have been making wreaths for a long time and now I get to share my joy with others and teach them how to make their own. I love this part of my job! We get to learn about each other, see everyones creative side and just have FUN!
I am thankful to have a career that I get to share my passion with others and do what I love every single day. I will say there are days that are tougher than others. My Etsy business is how I started my brick and mortar and sometimes it can be very demanding. Especially during my busy season which is spring! However, I have hired some amazing girls to help me run the Etsy side and the retail side of my store. I couldn't do it with out them. That is truly what I am learning these days. In order to have a successful business you need to delegate. I will say it's hard sometimes to feel like you are giving up control, but I realized I am not giving up control.
.
I am sharing my love with others around me and also learning new ideas of how to grow my business and succeed.
Spring is almost here and will be offering more classes coming up!
Happy Sunday and Blessings!
Jenny

Let's talk about one of our favorite and bestselling products: Aggie's Soy Wax Candles. These candles are AMAZING! They have quickly become a favorite in our store and there are so many reasons why. Aggie's Candles are made with soy wax, have a genuine cotton wick, and they use quality fragrances and essential oils in all their candles. No questionable items in these candles! Did I mention there are hand poured as well and made right here in Oregon?!? They burn for almost 50 hours (Aggie's recommend burning each candle for 2-4 hours at a time and trimming the wick before lighting each time) so they last a good long while.
Each flavor of Aggie's Candle has such a wonderful lasting smell all the way to the end. We love all the scents, however our favorite right now is the Timber. It has such a warm, rich scent that smells like a fresh forest. The Sweet Orange comes in a close second with it's sweet, happy scent that we just fall in love with every time we burn it.
Here at Fleurs De La Vie Home Decor we carry a variety of Aggie's products for your every need, both in store and online (HERE). We carry:

I have been hard at work making new designs this week. You always have to be months ahead in your industry (home decor for me) with new product. Once the new season hits you need to be ready for anything!
My first passion is making wreaths. I have been making wreaths for many years and love when I get inspiration to create something new! It could be a new ribbon, adding glitter to a wreath, which I did today and it looked awesome!! I will be adding that as an additional service. :)
All my designs are my creation and are truly one of a kind one and done type wreaths. When I first started back in 2010, I was just getting started and had no idea what I was doing. Even though I had made wreaths before when I worked for my mom as a kid. It took me some time but I found my niche again.
I will be adding more product for the upcoming seasons so check back to see what I am up too!
This wreath is available here on my shop!
Blessings...
Jenny
